Account Take Over (ATO) attacks have become a major issue for many retail and online services companies. To reduce the effectiveness of these attacks it's critical to remove the financial incentive from the attacker AND unmask the person who profited from selling the tools used for account take overs. Reducing the potential for monetizing their efforts and increasing the personal risk removes thousands of attackers equation. Unmasking the person who developed the account "checker" exposes him or her to law enforcement scrutiny further reduces the number of attackers using their tool or it's derivative.
